DARE COUNTY
REGIONAL AIRPORT
The airport terminal building was built in 1986, and has
several amenities available to our visitors to the
airport. The airport is owned by the County of Dare and is
operated under a nine member Airport Authority.
Located just 18 driving miles from First Flight Airport and
the Wright Brothers National Memorial, the airport has a lot
to offer those visitors to our community. With the North
Carolina Aquarium located at the entrance to the terminal,
the airport's location rests on the waterfront.
At the waters edge, the airport borders the beach that has a
lifeguard from Memorial Day to Labor Day, an open air
pavilion on the sound with charcoal grills, picnic tables,
and a restroom all overlooking the sandy beach.
DCRA serves as home to several businesses located at the
airport which provide support services to our local business
community as well as our local and Itinerant pilots. Home
to the Emergency Management Service MMB BK117 helicopter,
they provide emergency medevac services to the region.
